#1 Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven

Breville BOV800XL Smart Toaster OvenThere is no other toaster oven on the market that is reviewed more than the Breville Smart Oven.  Bar none, it is the very best there is.

  • Quiet convection fan for speedier and more even cooking.
  • 9 preset cooking functions – no need to guess temperatures or times, but you still have control to customize time or temp as you wish.
  • Automatic pull-out rack for easy insertion and extraction of items.
  • Easy to use digital control interface.
  • Front access crumb tray for easy cleaning.
  • Automatic shut off – no need to worry about forgetting to turn the oven off, it will automatically do it after each cycle has finished.

#3 Waring TCO650

Waring TC0650

The TCO650 is a fairly new model from Waring and has received high praise right from the start.  It is one of the only toaster ovens not to use non-stick lining and with a price tag of less then $100, it’s also one of the best convection ovens at this price point.

Pros

  • Toasts and bakes wonderfully.
  • One of the best convection ovens for less than $100.
  • 5 year limited warranty – one of the longest warranties offered (many brands just offer a 1 year warranty).
  • One of the only ovens without a non-stick coating, which will appeal to those health conscious individuals.
  • Easy to use digital controls for precise cooking.
  • Automatic shut off for safer oven use.
  • Front access crumb tray for convenient cleaning.

#4 Cuisinart TOB-40

Cuisinart TOB-40It should be no surprise that the Cuisinart TOB-40 makes the top 5.  It is the #1 selling toaster oven on Amazon.com and has been a customer favorite for quite some time.

Pros

  • Best turn dial countertop oven.
  • Always Even™ shade control for excellent toasting.
  • Front access crumb tray (unlike other Cuisinart models).
  • Automatic shut off.
  • Easy for the whole family to use.
  • Fairly priced.
  • Cool two-toned black and stainless steel look.
  • Automatic pull-out rack.

Cons

  • No convection fan, but still bakes excellently.

#5 Cuisinart TOB-195

Cuisinart TOB-195Considered by many to be the best exact heat convection oven, the Cuisinart TOB-195 is very popular and much more affordable than its number one rival, the Breville Smart Oven.

Pros

  • Exact Heat™ sensor maintains the set temperature probably better than any other toaster oven out there.
  • Goes up to 500° while most countertop ovens only go up to 450°.
  • Convection bake option for faster and better cooking.
  • Always Even™ shade control to get your toast coming out perfectly.

Cons

  • Rear access crumb tray, which makes cleaning it more of a pain.
  • No interior light – for its large size, it could have used one.
  • Not 100% stainless steel – only the front panels are stainless steel.
  • No automatic pull-out rack.
  • Behind the door handle gets very hot.
  • Has automatic shut off, but only after 4 hours.
